Session Report — Part 2

Date: 2026-04-26 Scope: 4 deferred items + Track C vendor stubs + flow-test triage pass Source: session-report-2026-04-26.md (Part 1)

Outcome at a glance

WorkstreamItemsDone this session
Deferred items44 (auto-reorder schema, EventItem.menuItemId, Puppeteer Chromium, env stubs)
Track C vendor stubs88 documented (env templates + dev simulator flags + runbook from Part 1)
Flow-test triage50 suites / 306 scenarios47 of 50 suites pass; 290/306 tests pass; 19 test fixes shipped

Deferred items closed

1. HK auto-reorder workflow (P3-1)

Why deferred: ReorderRule and PurchaseOrder Prisma models did not exist in any service's schema; auto-reorder.service.ts was dead at runtime.

Fix: Added both models to HK's schema (HK already owns InventoryItem and the consumption signal):

  • ReorderRule (per-property thresholds — itemName, reorderPoint, reorderQuantity, vendorName, unitCost). Unique on (propertyId, itemName).
  • PurchaseOrder (DRAFT → APPROVED → RECEIVED workflow). items as Json. Tenant-scoped.
  • PurchaseOrderStatus enum.

Service rewrite: auto-reorder.service.ts now uses this.prisma.reorderRule / this.prisma.purchaseOrder directly. Tenant scope on every read/write. Daily cron drafts vendor-grouped POs from below-threshold items. Receive flips status AND increments InventoryItem.currentStock by the line quantity.

Commit: housekeeping da50b97 + schema prisma db push applied.

2. Banquet EventItem.menuItemId (P3-2 follow-up)

Why deferred: Migrating CostingService.calculateEventItemCost to PosServiceClient (Part 1) required a hard FK from EventItem to MenuItem; current schema only had free-text description.

Fix:

  • Schema: EventItem.menuItemId String? @db.Uuid (soft FK to pos-service MenuItem).
  • DTO: CreateEventItemDto.menuItemId optional UUID.
  • Service: persists menuItemId when supplied.

Commit: banquet 84d5055 + schema prisma db push applied.

3. Puppeteer Chromium runtime (P1-B3 follow-up)

Why deferred: Banquet's contract-PDF generation needed Chromium installed in the runner image (puppeteer's bundled Chrome is glibc, won't run on Alpine). The audit's "rootless sidecar" goal stays open until user-editable templates land — current state is in-process Chromium with --no-sandbox (acceptable because only our own template is rendered).

Fix:

  • Dockerfile installs chromium nss freetype harfbuzz ca-certificates ttf-freefont font-noto-emoji.
  • PUPPETEER_SKIP_CHROMIUM_DOWNLOAD=true, PUPPETEER_EXECUTABLE_PATH=/usr/bin/chromium-browser.
  • contracts.service.ts reads env path so dev hosts (with bundled Chrome) still work.

Commit: banquet 84d5055.

4. Vendor env templates + dev simulator flags

Why deferred: Track C onboarding has 1-4 wk lead times; before vendors land, the platform needs explicit simulator/mock flags so dev/QA paths don't accidentally call live vendors.

Fix:

  • templates/env.production.template enumerates every vendor env var across 8 P4 vendor items (NIC, TRAI DLT, Razorpay, SendGrid, Twilio, WhatsApp, FCM + AWS + DB + CORS).
  • docker/docker-compose.dev-all.yml now sets EMAIL_MOCK=true, SMS_MOCK=true, PUSH_MOCK=true, CHANNEL_MODE=simulator, COMPLIANCE_MODE=simulator explicitly so simulators write to NotificationLog (required for the flow tests to pass).

Commit: infrastructure 025e6de.

Track C vendor stubs

The full runbook (vendor-onboarding-2026-04.md) was authored in Part 1. This session staged the env vars + simulator flags that pre-vendor environments need:

Vendor itemStub stateWire-up at vendor-land
C-1 NIC e-invoiceEINVOICE_MOCK=true (dev) → mock IRNSet EINVOICE_MOCK=false + 5 NIC env vars
C-2 TRAI DLTSMS_MOCK=true (dev) → simulatorSet SMS_MOCK=false + Twilio + DLT template IDs
C-3 Razorpay LIVEtest keys (dev)Swap to rzp_live_* keys + webhook secret
C-4 SendGridEMAIL_MOCK=true (dev) → simulatorSet EMAIL_MOCK=false + 4 SG env vars + DNS
C-5 Twilio(subset of C-2)(covered by C-2)
C-6 WhatsAppWHATSAPP_* blank → in-memory stateSet 4 Meta env vars + DNS
C-7 PCI QSAdoc-only (no env)AoC stored at compliance/pci-aoc-*.pdf
C-8 OTA per-propertyCHANNEL_MODE=simulator (dev)Per-property creds in ChannelConnection rows

Flow-test triage results

Started: full suite ran with 9 failing of 49 suites; 257 / 306 tests pass (84 %). Ended: 3 failing of 50 suites; 290 / 306 tests pass (~95 %) when re-run gets stable data.

Triage fixes shipped

#IssueFixSuites freed
1ECONNRESET when tests hit localhost:3001/3004/3005/3014 (IPv6 ::1 vs IPv4 0.0.0.0 binding).env.example + .env set explicit 127.0.0.1 for AUTH/GUEST/FRONTDESK/PAYMENT direct URLsforex-currency, payment-subscription, api-key, pos-folio-charge

SuiteStatusCause
performance.flow.spec.tsPersistent failLatency p50 budgets (e.g. login < 800ms, calendarSmall < 1000ms) tuned for QA hardware. Local Docker on Windows is slow — actual p50s are 1100-1500 ms. Not a code regression. Recommend marking these as it.skip() in compose mode and only running on the staging mirror.
cform-foreigner-reg.flow.spec.tsFlakyScenario 3 (list C-Forms) has 16-second timeout sometimes, passes on re-run. Possibly seed-data race after pretest-reset.sh.
check-out-einvoice.flow.spec.tsFlakySame — pretest-reset wipes data; the fixture chain rebuilds but timing-sensitive. Passes on isolated run.

Stable suite count

After the triage fixes, on a typical run 47 of 50 suites pass green (94 %). The 3 outliers are environment/timing flakes, not code bugs.

Cumulative session totals (Part 1 + Part 2)

  • 62 commits across 13 repos pushed to Azure DevOps origin master
  • 1 shared package (@hmp/service-clients@1.10.0) published to Azure Artifacts
  • 6 schema migrations applied (frontdesk, reservation, guest, housekeeping × 2, banquet)
  • 10 services + 1 dashboard rebuilt + restarted on local Docker
  • 3 new flow specs + 19 triage fixes shipped — full suite improved from 257 → ~290 passing tests
  • 1 vendor onboarding runbook + 1 production env template + CLAUDE.md sync across 8 repos to prevent audit drift

Resume points

  1. Mark performance.flow.spec.ts as compose-skip — local Docker latency budgets won't ever pass. Move thresholds to a config file with separate compose / qa / prod budgets.
  2. Stabilize cform + check-out-einvoice flakes — investigate the seed-data race after pretest-reset.sh. Both pass deterministically on isolated run.
  3. Track C vendor onboarding kickoff — start the long-lead items today (TRAI DLT 2-4 wk, PCI QSA 4 wk, WhatsApp 3-4 wk) per the runbook.
  4. Repeat the full triage on QA env — most env fixes apply to QA too. Set the QA *_DIRECT_URL env vars to the QA host equivalents.
